I remember going to the Rhode Island Auditorium with my Dad to see the Reds. The logo on the front of the building looked like it reached out and grabbed you as you were walking in. I remember watching the people more than the game. Everybody was a character. In my teens, I was fortunate to have Topper as my hockey coach and got to play with his sons Mike and Hugh. They were so talented and I was so jealous of them. Later in life I realized their talent was genetic. They were the product of one of the greatest RI Reds players and one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet. Shirley lives in my neighborhood. Her house is # 15.

I was born and raised in Providence for my first 10 years. The Auditorium was my 2nd home. What fond memories I had. I came back home for the Reds 50th Reunion and was embraced by such wonderful fans who still keep my late dad's name alive.Sincere thanks. I am Terry Reardon's son.

ron finn nite

ron finn was refereeing his first pro game this particular evening and there was something in the air, besides the smoke. bobby and i were season ticket holders from '68 - '72, age 13 - 16 yrs. old. anyway, 1 bad call led to another and it was on! the profanity and booing kept building when the ever present blind guy sitting by the face off circle blew his air horn in the refs direction. not knowing him, finn threw him out of the rink and things escalated from there on. seats were somehow thrown on the ice, fights all over the ice ( leduc, kelly etc. ) and the game was almost cancelled. the game ended after 11pm , reds win,

Rock Concert

Was a teenager when Jimmy Hendrix came to the Auditorium to perform. The house was sold out and I purchased a high priced ticket but my seat ended up being to the back of the stage so you could only see Jimmy's back and not actually see the group. Even with that the show was great and of cours it was smoky inside too and Brrrr Cold too. Art Shlevin
